Aaron J. DeLuca has significant asbestos litigation and trial experience and has successfully represented mesothelioma patients and other victims of corporate indifference throughout the United States and in a number of foreign countries. He handles mesothelioma cases on behalf of his firm's clients and has served as asbestos trial counsel for mesothelioma clients of a number of other law firms on a national basis.
Focusing exclusively on asbestos-related disease litigation since graduating from law school, Mr. DeLuca has developed substantial expertise in the areas of asbestos medicine and industrial hygiene.
Mr. DeLuca has handled mesothelioma cases for a wide variety of tradesmen, including plumbers, pipefitters, steamfitters, sprinklerfitters, boilermakers, insulators, mechanics, carpenters, steelworkers and shipyard workers. He has also represented the children and wives of those who were occupationally exposed to asbestos and brought asbestos dust home on their clothing.
Mr. DeLuca has successfully handled difficult litigation involving low-dose chrysotile exposures including floor tile, friction, gasket, valve packing and equipment defendants and has successfully handled cases against premises liability defendants including cases of primary, bystander and household exposure.
Mr. DeLuca has developed close working and personal relationships with some of the world's foremost experts in asbestos issues and has successfully defended them in various courts against Frye, Daubert, Havner, Borg Warner, Robinson and Gentry challenges. He is frequently consulted and retained by other lawyers to assist them when confronted by defense motions to exclude or limit scientific evidence and testimony.
Mr. DeLuca has tried numerous asbestos cases to verdict and has negotiated and achieved settlements in asbestos cases in excess of $150,000,000.00.
Frequently asked to speak before groups of both plaintiff and defense lawyers on medical and scientific issues unique to toxic tort litigation, DeLuca is nationally recognized as an expert in the use of technology in discovery, trial preparation and in the courtroom.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University School of Law, Mr. DeLuca is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Texas, West Virginia, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has also been admitted to practice in a number of other courts on a case by case basis in recognition of his specialty in complex litigation.
